Located in the Technology Park of Guipúzcoa, a key Research and Development centre in Europe, FARSENS is a digital sensors company, mainly specialized in ultra-low power digital sensors and long range RFID passive sensors.

FARSENS is a spin-off of the Centro de Estudios e Investigaciones Técnicas de Gipuzkoa (CEIT), a Non-profit Research Organization.

A CEIT’s multidisciplinary team (researchers from 5 areas) has been working on a strategic R&D project for 3 years to develop long range UHF RFID passive sensors, based on ultra-low power solutions. The outcomes of this successful project are several technological innovations in the MEMS area; the confluence of CMOS, MEMS and RFID technologies and the development of tools for design automation.

FARSENS was founded in 2008 to complete the development of business applications and commercialize the technology.
